(Yoga Therapist), SEP

As a therapist, I like to create a safe, non-judgemental space where you can express your thoughts and emotions freely. Working collaboratively, we can examine beliefs about yourself and look more closely at any limiting beliefs you might have and come to a better, more insightful understanding about how you came to develop those beliefs. We can work together to help you gain a sense of empowerment and possibility to make the changes you want in your life.

My background is in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Somatic Experiencing therapy, and Yoga therapy. I also have a holistic approach to therapy. Somatic therapy means that the physical body is a part of therapy, such as noticing where you are holding tension or emotions in your body, and to bring a sense of ease to that part of your body. Body-based therapy also works with states of the nervous system, to understand how our nervous system interacts with the world around us and to create a new feeling of safety within as you go forward in life.

I look forward to helping you on your journey.

My training and experience:

  • Master’s degree in clinical social work
  • Certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP); a three-year training program in body-based trauma processing
  • 20 years of experience as a yoga teacher, including a 500 hour training course in the foundations of yoga therapy
  • Courses in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction and Vipassana Meditation
  • Courses in body-based therapy such as Reiki, Craniosacral therapy and Somatic Resilience and Regulation
