Intro to Mindfulness Meditation Class
Meditation is exercise for the essential skills of concentration, clarity and equanimity. Your ability to concentrate affects every single experience. It makes pain much easier to bear. It deepens the satisfaction in small and seemingly mundane pleasures. It increases your compassion and creativity. And it allows you to be calm even in the face of tumultuous emotions.
We will learn and practice 3 different basic meditation techniques.
You choose which feels most natural to you!

Drop-in Mindfulness Meditation Sitting Group
This free group offers some, but minimal, guidance in a variety of styles of mindfulness meditation. There will be a few minutes of guidance, then silent sitting for 20 minutes. Appropriate for anyone with some familiarity and basic experience with meditation. No commitment necessary! You can bring a cushion to sit on, or use a chair.The benefits of meditating in a group:

We can ride on the energy around us of others who are also intentionally meditating. It really does FEEL different!

presence and self-compassion workshop
Start 2019 with time to reflect, be present and offer yourself some kindness and compassion. Self-compassion has been shown to help reduce anxiety, depression, shame and rumination while increasing optimism, happiness and a sense of peace.
This three hour interactive workshop will incorporate written reflection, meditation practices, and mindfulness and self-compassion techniques.

Reiki / Healing Touch
What is Reiki? And what the heck is Healing Touch?
These are ancient methods of healing that use a gentle laying on of hands to improve the flow of energy through the body. They can be used as an excellent support to talk therapy, but are not talk therapy themselves.
They've been around for centuries and used in many different cultures to improve the flow of energy through the body. Modern studies show Reiki and Healing Touch improve well-being, relaxation, pain relief, sleep quality and reduce anxiety. During a Reiki/Healing Touch session, the client is fully clothed and Diana lightly touches various parts of the body, starting at the feet, and moving to the head, to draw and move energy through the body.
Diana does not touch all of a person's body, only those areas that are comfortable and safe for each individual client. Sessions are deeply relaxing and it's not uncommon for clients to fall into a light sleep. After the session, Diana discusses the experience with the client and shares her assessment of the energy field (where more energy was drawn in and where less energy was needed) so that the client may make connections between areas of "stuckness" in the body and what might be causing these in their life. The goal, however, is to simply move energy to the areas of the body that need it and therefore heal the obstructions, not necessarily logically "know" the origins of the obstructions. Clients may benefit from just one session or regular sessions, depending on their desire and need.
Diana Campbell is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been a Reiki Master Teacher since 1995. She has studied and practiced a variety of energy healing methods such as Healing Touch and CranioSacral Therapy.
